Experience Hell’s Revenge at Sunset

Experience one of Moab’s most iconic off-road adventures on our Hell’s Revenge Sunset Ride-Along Jeep Tour. With an expert Outlaw Adventure Tours guide behind the wheel, you can sit back, take in the scenery, and experience the excitement of Hell’s Revenge without having to navigate the trail yourself.

Your adventure begins at Outlaw Adventure Tours in Moab, Utah, where you’ll meet your guide and get ready for an incredible evening on the trail. After a safety briefing, climb aboard one of our specially outfitted Jeep Wranglers and leave the driving to us.

From our headquarters, you’ll head toward the legendary Hell’s Revenge 4×4 Trail, where the pavement gives way to the steep slickrock, sandstone fins, and rugged red-rock terrain that have made Moab one of the world’s most famous off-road destinations.

Ride the Famous Slickrock of Hell’s Revenge

Hell’s Revenge is anything but an ordinary dirt road. Much of the trail travels directly across massive expanses of sandstone, taking you up steep slickrock climbs, over rolling domes, across narrow sandstone fins, and down exciting descents.

From the passenger seat, some of the terrain can look almost impossible. That’s part of what makes the experience so memorable.

Your expert off-road guide handles the technical driving and carefully chooses the lines while you enjoy the ride, take in the views, snap photos, and experience firsthand what a properly equipped Jeep can do on Moab’s legendary slickrock.

Throughout the adventure, your guide will also share local knowledge about the landscape, geology, history, plants, wildlife, and the unique terrain that makes this part of southern Utah unlike anywhere else.

See Ancient Dinosaur Tracks

Along the way, you’ll stop to see dinosaur tracks preserved in the sandstone, offering a fascinating glimpse into Moab’s prehistoric past.

Get out of the Jeep, stretch your legs, take some photos, and stand beside evidence of the ancient creatures that crossed this landscape millions of years before Hell’s Revenge became one of Moab’s legendary 4×4 trails.

Explore Echo Canyon

Your adventure continues through the dramatic red-rock scenery of Echo Canyon.

Surrounded by towering sandstone formations and rugged desert terrain, this part of the tour offers a different perspective on the landscape surrounding Hell’s Revenge and a chance to experience areas most visitors to Moab will never see from the pavement.

Take in the Colorado River Overlook

One of the scenic highlights of the tour is the Colorado River Overlook.

High above the surrounding desert, you’ll have time to take in expansive views of the Colorado River and Moab’s red-rock country. It’s a perfect place to step out of the Jeep, capture photos, and appreciate the scale of the landscape around you.

Want More Adventure? Take on the Optional Obstacles

For guests looking for an extra dose of excitement, your guide may offer the opportunity to experience some of Hell’s Revenge’s famous optional 4×4 obstacles, including Hell’s Gate and the Staircase.

Hell’s Gate takes the Jeep into a steep slickrock chute followed by an impressive climb back out. From the passenger seat, the angles and terrain provide an entirely different level of off-road excitement as your guide carefully navigates one of Hell’s Revenge’s best-known technical challenges.

The Staircase provides another exciting challenge, combining steep, uneven slickrock terrain with the capability of a properly equipped Jeep and an experienced off-road driver.

Optional obstacles are always approached with safety in mind and are attempted at your guide’s discretion based on trail, weather, vehicle, and other conditions. If your group is looking for some extra adventure, let your guide know.

Experience a Moab Sunset from the Slickrock

As evening approaches, Hell’s Revenge takes on an entirely different character.

The lowering sun brings out deep reds, oranges, and golds in the sandstone while shadows stretch across the fins, canyons, and surrounding desert. The changing light transforms the landscape and makes sunset one of the most spectacular times of day to experience Hell’s Revenge.

We’ll take time to enjoy the scenery and capture photos as the colors change across Moab’s red-rock country before continuing the adventure across the slickrock.
